Hi, I’m Gill,

With over 20 years of teaching experience, I specialize in helping beginners and frustrated players build real confidence, real skills, and a genuine love for playing.

Whether you're starting for the first time or trying again after feeling stuck, I create lessons that are simple, encouraging, effective, and designed to help you succeed.

My goal is to make learning your instrument feel achievable, enjoyable, and something you'll look forward to.

Where It All Began ...

Music, for me, didn’t begin in a classroom—it began at home. My first inspiration was my Mum, Georgina. She had a beautiful voice and a deep love for music, and the very first guitar I ever learned to play was her beloved 12-string. That connection to her, and to music has stayed with me ever since, and I am honored to now own her beautiful 12-string guitar.

My uncle, Jeremy Nichols, was another profound musical influence in my life. He couldn't read music, yet he could play almost anything by ear. He had a gift for captivating people—his voice, his playing, and his presence could hold a room in awe.

Their lives—and their love for music, helped shape mine, and have influenced how I teach today. Through them, I experienced firsthand how powerful music can be. It’s not just something you learn… it’s something you feel, something that stays with you, something that can comfort, connect, and even heal.

Because music isn’t just about getting the chords or the notes right—it’s about creating something real, something lasting, and something that can truly touch a life.

My Mission

My mission is to perpetuate the love of learning, and to make your learning experience meaningful, exciting and fun.

I believe real progress comes from taking clear, manageable micro-steps practiced consistently, so your goals feel achievable—not overwhelming, so you stay motivated instead of overwhelmed.

Music is more than just notes and technique—it is an experience, an outlet, and a skill that can stay with you for life.

While learning an instrument can be challenging, it can also be deeply rewarding, joyful, and even transformative. That is why I don't just teach you to play songs ... I help you... become a musician.

Self-Defense

For the past 8 years, I have taught self-defense as a certified RAD Women’s and RAD Kids instructor with the Eagle Mountain Sheriff’s Department, empowering hundreds of women and children, and I bring those same principles of awareness, confidence, and personal strength into my musical teaching.

I strive to create a safe, supportive space where students grow in confidence, resilience, and self belief.

When students believe in themselves, their voice becomes powerful—and learning becomes something they carry with them for life.

I was born in Bristol, England—a city rich in history, creativity, and a deep musical culture. Growing up in that environment shaped my love for music and gave me an appreciation for a wide variety of musical styles.

Known for its vibrant arts scene and influential sound, Bristol has produced many musical artists that have shaped genres and impacted music worldwide. It’s also the home of the famous actor, Cary Grant and the legendary Blackbeard the pirate.

Since moving to the U.S. in 2003, I’ve continued building my life around music, teaching, and connection—bringing that same creativity and passion into every lesson.

With over 20 years of teaching experience and hundreds of students taught, I've seen that real progress comes from small consistent steps. That micro habits and the compound effect is the most powerful tool a student could ever learn.

Even a minute a day, practiced consistently, can lead to meaningful progress.

I specialize in teaching simple, manageable habits so students are always progressing, and I help them discover personal breakthrough's and help them take daily steps to move forward with confidence, no matter their starting point or challenge.

Experience
&
Results

What truly fuels me is connection—those moments where a student realizes they're capable of achieving more than they thought.

I care deeply about transformation—not just learning an instrument, but helping students grow in confidence, find their voice, and believe in themselves.

I love witnessing that shift from doubt to "I CAN do this!"

My goal is to create a space where students feel heard, supported, encouraged, and are willing to keep trying—even when things get challenging.

Because when students learn to trust the process, that confidence carries into everything they do.
